THE 2ND ANNUAL RECIPE FOR CHANGE FUNDRAISER

Seven years ago, Chef Bruno Abate approached Cook County officials and offered to spend time inside the jail and educate detainees about nutrition and cooking. His goals were to improve their culinary skills and appreciation for healthy eating, while emphasizing self-discipline and personal accountability. Today, Chef Bruno’s vision has evolved into a 501c3, Recipe For Change. The program provides instruction to students inside a custom-built kitchen within the walls of Cook County. Over an 8-12 week curriculum, detainees learn everything from basic chopping to preparing multi-course meals.

We celebrated the amazing work of Recipe For Change with the 2nd Annual Fundraiser at Ignite Glass Studios. A full art silent auction, live glass blowing demonstration, dinner prepared by Chef Bruno himself and live musical performances made the night one to remember.
